What DCD Earthworx can do for you

Small-to-medium earthmoving for residential and light-commercial sites. If it involves moving dirt, breaking concrete or getting the ground ready to build on, it's probably on this list.

Site levelling & grading

Uneven ground causes drainage problems, cracked slabs and wasted money later. DCD Earthworx levels and grades residential and light-commercial blocks so the next trade can start straight away.

Common jobs:

  • Shed and garage pads
  • Slab and footing preparation
  • Pool surrounds and pool digs
  • Lawn and turf preparation
  • Driveway and crossover base
  • Cut-and-fill on sloping blocks, with fall set for drainage

You’ll get a clean, compacted surface graded to the fall you need, with spoil either spread on site or carted away.

Trenching

Whether it’s a stormwater line, a new power run to a shed or ag-drain around the house, DCD Earthworx digs trenches to the right depth and grade the first time.

Common jobs:

  • Stormwater and sewer connections
  • Ag-drain / subsoil drainage
  • Electrical and conduit runs to sheds, studios and pools
  • Water and gas service lines
  • Retaining wall drainage

Trenches are dug to your marked line, spoil kept tidy alongside, and backfilled and compacted once the pipe or conduit is in.

Footings

Footing excavation needs to be accurate — right width, right depth, square to the build. DCD Earthworx digs footings to your engineer’s or builder’s set-out so the concrete pour goes smoothly.

Common jobs:

  • Shed and garage strip footings
  • House extension and alfresco footings
  • Deck and verandah pad footings
  • Retaining wall footings
  • Fence and gate post footings

Spoil is stockpiled or removed, and the trench left clean and ready for reinforcement and pour.

Post holes

Hand-digging post holes is slow and inconsistent. DCD Earthworx augers clean, uniform holes to the diameter and depth you need — dozens in the time it takes to dig a handful by hand.

Common jobs:

  • Boundary and paling fences
  • Gate and driveway posts
  • Verandah, pergola and carport posts
  • Deck stumps and piers
  • Sign and structural posts

Works in most Melbourne soils, including clay. Rock and heavy root zones handled with the right attachment.

Concrete removal

Old concrete gets broken out with a hydraulic breaker, loaded and carted away for recycling. No sledgehammers, no mess left behind.

Common jobs:

  • Driveways and crossovers
  • Paths and porches
  • Shed and garage slabs
  • Old footings and pier caps
  • Pool surrounds

Once it’s out, the area can be re-levelled and prepared for whatever’s going in next — new concrete, paving, decking or lawn.

Stump removal

Stump grinding leaves the roots behind. When you need the ground genuinely clear — for a slab, footing, fence line or new garden bed — DCD Earthworx digs the stump and root ball right out.

Common jobs:

  • Stumps in the way of a build or extension
  • Clearing along a new fence or retaining line
  • Old orchard and hedge removal
  • Full site clears before landscaping

The hole is backfilled and compacted, and the stump and roots carted away.

Soil & spoil removal

Excess soil has to go somewhere. DCD Earthworx digs out and removes unwanted material and disposes of it properly, so you’re not left with piles taking over the yard.

Common jobs:

  • Spoil from digs, trenches and footings
  • Lowering ground levels around the house
  • Removing old garden beds, sand pits and fill
  • Clay and rubble from site cuts
  • Clean-up after other trades

Access-tight sites are no problem — compact machines get into most backyards through a standard side gate.

Landscape preparation

Before the turf, paving and garden beds go in, the ground has to be right. DCD Earthworx does the heavy earthworks stage of a landscape project so your landscaper or gardener can get straight to the finish.

Common jobs:

  • Clearing overgrown or neglected yards
  • Removing old lawn, beds, paths and structures
  • Reshaping and levelling for new lawn and gardens
  • Spreading soil, mulch and crushed rock
  • Trenching and base prep for paths, decks and retaining

Whether you’re doing the landscaping yourself or managing trades, this is the messy part handled.
